SexyVegan![]() If you are interested in seeing my art work without reading the text below (a sort of abridged bio of myself interjected with a little of my philosophy) or if you wish to read the text at a later time, simply click the Gallery tab at the left of the page and then click on any of the image folders which appear when doing this. Please keep in mind, that the options to purchase my artwork that appear next to each enlarged image, are for the purchase of reproductions of the original pieces, not for the originals themselves. If you have any questions at all concerning this or any other questions about my artwork (including the purchase of originals), please feel free to contact me through e-mail. Enjoy.Hi, I'm a very, very part time artist who wishes he had another 14 hours in a day to be able to more frequently express his ideas and perspective through art. So very part time am I, that in fact all of the images that you'll see here in my gallery were created in or about the mid 1990's, which is the last time I seriously (and unfortunately) picked up the pen and let my creative mind speak through it. I am a self-trained artist (no formal training) who favors the simplicity, convenience, and starkness of pen and ink. I have worked with other common mediums as well (oils, arcrylic, guache, watercolors, inks, colored pencil). My drawing table is covered with animal rights books and literature (and the occassional cat or three), so setting upon a drawing project is even more elusive than yesteryear (before feeling compelled to be an activist / advocate in the more traditional sense--ie. writing letters, preparing materials for tabling, compiling and archiving research data and info on animal issues, etc). That said, I've been attempting to learn fully how to manipulate some computer applications that might allow me to express my ideas digitally (2D and 3D drawing programs and animation applications). My illustrations vary in size, and generally the reproductions (which are actually a high quality photocopy) are printed on heavy weight stock no larger than about 18" X 24" and most are printed on 11" X 17" heavy weight stock. The quality of the copies is quite good. I have hand-colored a couple of the copies, but gave them as unique gifts or donations to raise funds; fortunately, I was smart enough to photograph one of these hand colored prints, and thus I can show you what a hand colored print would generally look like (see image folders below). I can hand color any image if you are interested, but the price would be considerably higher, depending on the image. In case you might be wondering, I'm a vegan since about 1992, though I don't use this to judge anyone else who hasn't been for as long or who isn't yet. It's just a matter-of-fact thing. Before my compassionate awakening towards other species, I was involved with environmental advocacy work, and I still remain active with human rights issues, particularly with the issue of modern human slavery and more recently, occupied Palestine. I constantly look to expand my consciousness, and I make a distinction between kindness and compassionate. The latter I define as active AND unbound (not limited to species), objective kindness or respect, whereas kindness is more often than not, limited to an affinity we have to a particular group, exclusive of certain others. I always try to keep mindful to aim towards true compassion rather than just leaning towards kindness to some. But podody is nerfect, and I find myself constantly challenged.
GIFT CERTIFICATESFor those who have received gift certificates for my artwork, please note that these gift certificates entitle you to choose any copy of my artwork that is not an original hand drawn/colored piece but can include any other reproduction, including the full color reproductions and an unique morph animation.
Thanks for viewing my current samples.
Louie LINKSMy favorite organizations' websites (aside from Veganica) include various informational sites relating to different social issues, but are not limited to the following informational resources because this is not a static list and I will be updating it as needed (or if anyone provides a convincing and credible reason for adding or deleting a link):

A new website has just been created and it is one that I highly recommend that you visit. "Farm Kind was founded to be a place where everyone can come to learn about issues concerning our food, how it is produced, and the many complex connections it has to our world and our lives." http://www.farmkind.org

PLEASE NOTE, THE IMAGES BELOW ACTUALLY REPRESENT FOLDERS OF MORE OF MY ARTWORK. Each folder contains images that you can click on and that will expand into a larger, higher quality digital representation (smaller in size, of course, than the originals) accompanied with a very brief description written by yours truly. Enjoy. |
